Education is on everyone’s lips as a rising generation is beginning to drown in a pool, or really an ocean, of debt. Democratic candidate for governor, Ed FitzGerald, proposed a plan to put $100 in the hands of each and every Ohio kindergardener for a college savings account. Additional for those who are already in college, an extra $16o million would be allotted to state financial aid for students. “There is a crisis in higher education and anybody trying to get a higher education knows it,” he said during a press conference, the Dispatch reported. He emphasized increased taxes were not part of his proposal and the plan would be funded through extra money above the state’s budget.
