Tim Hortons announced on Wednesday plans to layoff an untold number of employees across their operations, including some who work at the company’s Dublin-based U.S. headquarters. A spokesperson calls the move “difficult, but necessary.” The Canadian-based Tim Hortons was purchased by Burger King in 2014 for $11 billion. Employees affected by the downsizing are to be offered severance packages and other assistance. (jj)
