IFL football coming to Columbus
The next indoor football team to kick off at Nationwide Arena now has a team name, colors, and logo.
The IFL’s Wild Dogs unveiled their uniforms and more at the Columbus Zoo Tuesday.
“The identity that we have come up with is entirely unique, bold, and brash, just like the exuberance of our fans here in Columbus,” said team owner Steve Germain.
The team said their name was selected from more than 1,000 suggestions fans offered in a contest last year.

Wild Dogs emerged victorious from the pack because of the way club ownership wants players to hunt together. It’s also a nod to the Germain family’s commitment to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, which houses several endangered African painted dogs.
The color scheme the team revealed includes what they have dubbed Pitch Black, Saharan Taupe, Grasslands Gold, Safari White, and Ruthless Red.
The team’s logo was designed partly by Columbus artist Sam Fout.
The Wild Dogs kick off play in March 2022.
