Since 1983, the FDA has banned blood donation from any man that has ever had a sexual relationship with another man, because of the history of a connection to HIV. National Gay Blood Drive is protesting that thought. The way the drive works is gay or bisexual men come to donate blood and and an eligible donor donates in their honor. In Columbus this is the second year for the drive and donations will be taken Friday at 4820 Sawmill Rd. and sites are located across the country for men to show their support, according to the Dispatch.
