Politicians across the country are checking their campaign financial records looking for possible donations from Earl Holt III. Holt is the head of a white supremacist organization cited by Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof in an online manifesto. Locally, U.S. Senator Rob Portman discovered a $250 contribution to his 2010 Senate campaign and responded by donating that amount to a fund set-up to help families of the victims of shooting rampage.
Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel discovered a $1,500 contribution to his 2012 Senate campaign but says that he can’t return the money because he already spent it. <Gee whiz.>
