“Best You’ve Never Heard Of” is here to shine a light on the under-the-radar spots that make Columbus special. As the author of “614 feast Favorites,” I celebrate a ton of our city’s finest restaurants and dishes. But what about those feast-worthy spots that don’t get talked about enough?

Let’s get into these lesser-known treasures, kicking off with a true hidden gem: KOSHI.

Located inside Saraga International Grocery at 1265 Morse Rd, KOSHI is where traditional flavors meet local ingredients, creating dishes that are both authentic and fresh. KOSHI thrives on bold Korean flavors and traditions, serving up everything from crispy Korean fried chicken to hearty stews and fresh sushi. Every dish celebrates Korea’s rich culinary heritage, prepared with the freshest ingredients found right here in Columbus.

Their menu is full of hits, and a lot of these dishes are customizable and available vegetarian, as they’re very accommodating. I suggest these dishes:

Tteok-Bok-Ki: This dish is a spicy comfort classic with rice cakes and fish cakes. To step up the comfort level even more, treat yourself by adding mozzarella and watch this dish transform into a gooey delight.

Signature Korean Boneless Fried Chicken: Crispy chicken coated in KOSHI’s secret sauce— a tasty combo of honey, soy, and some spice. It comes with crisp lettuce coleslaw, tangy pickled radish, and traditional Banchan (Korean side dishes).

Bibimbap: Traditional Korean bibimbap (mixed rice) with vegetables and a sunny side up egg. Choice of bulgogi beef or tofu. This dish is very aesthetically pleasing, so mixing it might seem to disturb the presentation, but it enhances the overall flavor, making it a beloved feature of the dish.

Jjam-ppong: A must for heat seekers, this noodle soup is rich with a smoky broth brimming with seafood, pork, and vegetables. Feeling brave? Go for level two on the spice scale!

Sushi: Check out the sushi bar, especially the fan-favorite spicy tuna roll filled with spicy tuna, creamy avocado, and crisp cucumber.
