One local sandwich shop is giving patrons the chance to eat their way to $1,000.

The Ohio-based chain Submarine House has officially launched the 2024 Super Duper Challenge, an annual event that combines an eating contest with a charity fundraiser.

Until July 21, Submarine House is challenging diners to eat its 16-inch Super Duper Sub within 16 minutes. Those able to complete the challenge will win a shirt, as well as receive the sandwich for free.

The 10 fastest times at each Submarine House location will qualify for the semi-final round, which will be held July 22-29. Semi-finalists will repeat the challenge, and the fastest time at each of Submarine House’s ten locations will qualify for the final round.

The finals of the 2024 Super Duper Challenge will take place at the eatery’s Kettering location. The winner will take home a cool $1,000, and all proceeds from the event will benefit Dayton Children’s Hospital.
