After battling to get a liquor license, and fed up with the wait, the owners at Jobu Ramen are taking matters into their own hands…or really the hands of the public with a Kickstarter campaign aimed at raising money for a more expensive, but immediate license. The Kickstarter is asking for $15,000 for a private beer and liquor license from a company that doesn’t have a use for it anymore. Going through the state could take the next year but also would cost about $1,100. The new ramen joint doesn’t have the money upfront for the pricier private license, but the owners have said that business is slowing during weekend nights because the restaurant can’t serve liquor and customers want a beer at night, according to Crave.
