From Tigertree, to Rowe, to Ladybird, the boutiques of the Short North have a face, a personality which mostly stem from the owners that decorate and create them. “The Art of Visual Merchandising: Short North” by Joe Baer is part an exploration of what goes behind the creative exteriors and how it connects to customers and part a look at the history of some of the shops and the people behind them. “I think visual merchandising is important because it really takes into account the whole experience for the customer,” Baer said according to the Metropreneur. “Some of the best retail experiences are in neighborhoods like the Short North.”

The book will be available for purchase at On Paper in the Short North and online through Zen Genius in early September.
