In response to the rampant violence and rioting that has plagued Ferguson, Missouri since the death of an unarmed, 18-year-old, African American boy, Michael Brown, Saturday, more than 100 people gathered in Goodale Park to show support. The local protest though was more peaceful than the city it was backing. “It could be anywhere…it would never surprise me where it could be, just because I know it’s something that could happen anywhere,” said organizer Brooke Butler to ABC6. A moment of silence, prayers, signs reading “Fight for Ferguson” and chants and songs filled the park during the peaceful protest.
