The sky is falling? Debris falling off downtown building?
UPDATE: Wednesday morning decorative aluminum fins were taken off the building’s exterior. Officials have said wind broke the bolts, the Dispatch reported. Officials also said that despite reports, nothing actually fell off the building. Workers noted that the bolts holding the decorative fins weren’t in great condition.
The sky might seem to be falling, but it’s really just pieces of the Beacon Building downtown that are falling off…although which is better isn’t clear. Lanes near Gay and Front streets have been closed down as police and officials look into the problem. No information on injuries or property damage has been released, the Dispatch reported. The building holds Columbus’ public-service department.
