100 lbs of khat seized, woman arrested

Hilliard police seized 100 pounds of khat from a P.O. Box in Hilliard. Over weeks, packages labeled as “clothes” were dropped off to the box from Hong Kong and Africa and when Aziza Mohamed, 40, attempted to pick those packages up she was arrested. Khat is a plant from Africa that when chewed is an amphetamine-like stimulant and causes euphoria. Mohamed has been charged with felony narcotics possession, and the seized substances are valued at around $30,000.
