Dublin dad charged after son found in 109-degree car

A child endangerment charge has been handed to a 31-year-old father who allegedly left his son in a locked, 109-degree car. The 6-year-old boy was spotted Tuesday around 1 p.m. sitting in the car without any supervision by a man parking to go into work, according to NBC4. The man said he watched the car for about 25-30 minutes for the parent to arrive, but after he saw the child sweating decided to call the police. The police found that the windows of the car were slightly open and removed the child who said he was waiting for his father in the car that was measured at 109-degrees. The father, Rodney D. Allen Jr, arrived from the building at 1:51 p.m. according to the police, and said he hadn’t been gone long and had been checking in on the boy. The grandmother has taken custody of the child after the alleged incident.
