Tuesday morning, Grandview drivers mourned the loss of the gas price war. It was good while it lasted. After a solid few days of dropping prices, gas stations could no longer maintain the war that had begun after the GetGo on Third Avenue opened with a promotional price of $3.09. The Speedway, Circle K and other gas stations in the area then dropped their prices to match and then beat that, with a gallon of gas eventually dropping to $2.88, well below the regional norm. None of the companies could have been making money as prices plummeted and drivers lined up around the station to fill up, and now most of the stations are back to about $3.19.
