Giant Eagle’s liquor permit could close family-owned store
Huffman’s Market in Upper Arlington is a family owned business that could be pushed into extinction by Giant Eagle if the corporate store is able to become a state liquor store. The decision could take a few weeks, but with Giant Eagle’s proximity to the store, the impact could be in the end for Huffman’s. “We make very little money on liquor itself, but we hope someone who comes in for it also buys an apple or something else,” owner Ryan Huffman said, according to the Dispatch.
