Posing police: Caller scamming businesses

A fake caller has been pretending to be a Worthington police officer in attempt to get credit card information from businesses—something officers don’t actually do. After the calls occurred Monday through Wednesday, the real police have warned locals not to give out any sensitive information, but hang up and call police to verify the call. Thus far both of the businesses that have been contacted have figured out the caller was indeed a fake and declined to give out any information, because oddly enough, the police don’t actually call asking for credit card numbers.
