Installation time scheduled for this afternoon
He might have the name, the looks, and the attitude of a president, but apparently OSU’s Dr. Michael Drake isn’t in charge officially … officially. This afternoon, Drake will be “formally installed” as the university 15th president following a ceremony where he’ll receive the presidential medallion (a long-standing OSU tradition).
I mean, a medal is nice. But it’s not really official until you change your status on Facebook, right? (deb)

An OSU president in the office, sans bow tie
The year of transition has been touted by the university since E. Gordon Gee decided to make a few comments about the SEC and catholics, subsequently giving the OSU PR department yet another migraine. Monday begins Dr. Michael Drake’s tenure as Ohio State president, and with him in the office, the year of transition might begin coming to a close. Before he could get all his Ohio State trinkets in just the right place in his Bricker Hall office (or even move into his Bexley mansion), Drake has meetings galore, according to the Dispatch. Former Interim President Joseph Alutto is sighing with relief as his presidential duties are now hoisted onto a new set of shoulders.
