Boomtown: 3 million in CBUS by 2050
Experts used to say Columbus would only get another half million people in the next forty years, but after hitting the 2 million person milestone earlier this year, those figures are being revised.
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission says Franklin County and the surrounding areas could experience a population boom to the tune of an extra 1 million people by 2050 if current trends continue.
If the projections are right, Central Ohio would be the most populous region in the state.
Columbus’ strong job growth looks pretty attractive to those outside the region, and the number of people moving here is reflected in the fact that Columbus was recently named the hottest apartment scene in the country.
It looks like people from all around are starting to realize how great Columbus is! Nothing wrong with some well-deserved recognition, right?
