Our Big Fat Greek Festival — This Weekend

Our Big Fat Greek Festival — This Weekend

Dancing, eating, and learning? There’s something for everyone at the Greek Festival this Labor Day weekend.

Starting in the early ’70s and entertaining around 40,000 or so guests every year, the Greek Festival has been a staple of Columbus culture and entertainment that only keeps getting better and better.

This year we can expect the staple festival dancers in their traditional dress, Hellenic singers, and tours of the beautiful Greek Orthodox cathedral that hosts the festival.

Additionally, this year the cultural center at the festival will have museum quality interactive time lines about Greek history, including artifacts and interactive displays.

Your typical greek fare as always will be present; dolmathes, gyros, spanakopita — you name it, it’s there. I remember one year my mom took me, we bought two dozen gyros to take home, and an army arsenal of baklava. I know, not enough, right?

If you haven’t gone to the Greek Festival, who even are you? Go find yourself in a pile of moussaka, they have that at the festival too.
