It’s to the ‘Burbs for Mikey’s Late Night Slice

Downtown pizza hotshots, Mikey’s Late Night Slice, has ruled the town since their small fleet of roving pizza vans and alleyway shop/movie projector came onto the scene. They’re now found practically everywhere and has made national news more than a handful of times.

Now though, is a different challenge as Mikey’s heads to the faraway land called Lewis Center. They’ll be adding a new bar to their business portfolio that is a far cry from anything they’ve ever done called BrewZaa, a bar in a Kroger’s strip mall.

Prior, Mikey’s Late Night Slice has delved into the bar game twice in Columbus proper with Oddfellows Liquor Bar and their Fourth Street haunt, Mikey’s Late Night Slice bar.

Taking over BrewZaa, once a sports bar called Joe’s Original, is looking to be quite the challenge for the Short North regulars.

“We’re Short North kids,” Sorboro said to Bizjournals. “What works there isn’t going to work in a corner plaza in Lewis Center. This is a plaza concept, a suburban concept.”

BrewZaa will stay open as Mikey’s turns the concept into something closer to their tried-and-true aesthetic but, saying to Bizjournals that they will “put the Late Night Slice twist to it.”
