Urban Meyer endorses John Kasich for president

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer endorsed John Kasich today in a video made public on YouTube.

Last week when Meyer was asked his opinion of Donald Trump, he said that he would choose to stay out of politics, and keep his focus on the football field.

However, in the endorsement today, Meyer told Kasich, “Go win this darn thing.”

“You know, I’m trying to raise the bar in the presidential campaign,” Kasich said, “I think you’re raising the bar at Ohio State–you know, in, really, the great image of a great leader like Woody Hayes.”

The endorsement comes at a crucial time for Kasich, who is currently in a close race for the primary election in his home state of Ohio with businessman Donald Trump. Kasich said he is confident he will win, but will “call it over” if he doesn’t.

Though the Ohio Governor will likely not achieve the number of delegates required to secure the presidential nomination, he says that if he wins Ohio, he will deny Trump the nomination, resulting in a brokered convention.
