Smart, generous local donates Daily Double winnings
You can do a lot with $2,000 but one Jeopardy contestant from Columbus decided to forfeit his wealth to a good cause. Rod Swain was on Monday’s episode of Jeopardy and was in the lead up until the final round. He really went for it in Final Jeopardy but unfortunately answered incorrectly. Swain’s bold wager cost him first place but he still managed to finish in second, reports 10TV.
He walked away with about $2,000 in winnings but instead of heading to the bank, he took a detour to CelebrateONE—an organization working towards lowering infant mortality rates in Columbus. As an AmeriCorps recruiter, Swain holds this issue close to his heart.
Despite his nervousness to appear on national television, Swain was able to represent Columbus, Ohio with his intellect and improve the quality of life for local babies with his generosity.
