Columbus-area marching band finalist in nationwide Metallica rendition competition
The marching band from a Columbus-area high school has been tapped as a finalist for a national competition hosted by Metallica.
The Dublin Scioto High School marching band joins 13 other schools as finalists in the second-annual Metallica Marching Band Competition.
To enter the contest, each band uploaded a video of them performing a rendition of a Metallica song to YouTube.

Dublin Scioto High School performed their versions of three different songs, “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Nothing Else Matters” and “Enter Sandman.”

The Dublin high school is the only school in Ohio to be named a finalist for the contest. The contest’s voting period officially ended on Dec. 31.
Winners will receive free musical gear of the school’s choice in addition to $20,000. Prizes will also be awarded to second and third places across multiple divisions.
