Family-owned restaurant abruptly closes after 30+ years

A local favorite for authentic Chinese cuisine has suddenly shuttered.

Sunflower Chinese Restaurant, which has been located at 7370 Sawmill Rd. for more than 30 years, announced that yesterday would be their last day of business.

“The next chapter is spending more time with grandkids and family,” said the restaurant’s Facebook post.

Sunflower was known for their delicious Cantonese-style dishes, plus dim sum and their lively decor, with bright red walls, golden dragons, and white tablecloths. 

They’ll surely be missed.
