National travel guide says these ‘hole-in-the-wall’ Columbus pizzerias ‘will blow your mind’

“Ever wondered where to find pizza so good it makes you question everything you thought you knew about cheese and dough?” asked Family Destinations Guide, a national travel publication that highlights the best things to do and eat around the country.

They highlighted 9 “hole-in-the-wall” pizza joints in Ohio that ‘will blow your mind,” and 2 of the featured spots are right here in Columbus (of course!).

9th on the list is Terita’s Pizza, located at 3905 Cleveland Ave., which Family Destinations Guide says is “the pizza equivalent of a unicorn.” Terita’s was founded in 1959, and to this day, they make their own homemade Italian sausage with no fillers. The cheese, sauce, and pepperoni are from the area’s top suppliers. They’re famous for their Columbus-style pizza – crispy and loaded with fresh toppings.

Number 3 on the list is none other than Rubino’s, located at 2643 E. Main St. in Bexley. For over 60 years, the pizzeria has been serving cracker crust pies and other Italian dishes. “Rubino’s crust is so thin, it’s practically two-dimensional,” said Family Destinations. “It’s like they’ve discovered a way to defy the laws of physics, creating a crust that’s impossibly crispy yet still sturdy enough to hold a mountain of toppings.”

What other hole-in-the-wall joints in Columbus would you add to the list?
