Smoke no longer flowing from Short North Food Hall

Legacy Smokehouse has put out the smoker for good at Short North Food Hall.

Yesterday, the Texas-style BBQ joint posted to Instagram saying they are leaving Food Hall to focus on their Greenlawn Avenue location and prepare for the new store in Hilliard.

“Thank you to all our fans out there, and hope you North-Siders venture down to the South Side to get some of your favorite BBQ,” they wrote.

Legacy began as a popup food truck in the old Long John Silver’s parking lot on South High Street in the fall of 2017.

Now, Legacy has a permanent restaurant at 340 Greenlawn Ave, Columbus and is working on opening a second at 3987 Main St. in Hilliard.

Today marked a new chapter for @legacysmokehouse We turned out the lights for the last time at @shortnorthfoodhall . It has been an amazing ride and we made many friends along the way. We want to wish @shokudooh , @uncledrewschicken , and @vinnys614 best of luck in the future as well as any other vendors who come into the hall. We are going to take time to focus on our location on Greenlawn Ave and prepare for our NEW spot in Hilliard (coming soon).
