Biggest mid-year charter fail in OH history has schools bracing themselves

The Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow could be a thing of the past in as early as a week.

ECOT’s long-time sponsor dropped out due to the school’s financial trouble and without them, they cannot operate, reports This Week News.

This is terrible news for the staff and students at ECOT but is also worrisome for neighboring school districts.

At any given point, 12,000- 20,000 are enrolled at ECOT. If the school closes—which would be the biggest mid-year charter failure in the state’s history—anywhere between 12,000- 20,000 kids would need to enroll elsewhere.

From more bus routes, to more desks, to more staff, to paperwork management, schools around the county are bracing themselves for an unknown influx of students.

Visit The Dispatch for more details on what schools are doing to prepare.
