Cbus #1: Jobs, affordability, fun bring all the college grads to the yard

After graduating college and finding a place to live, three items float to the top of the priority list: Job availability, affordability, and fun.

According to Smart Asset, the best place to achieve the trifecta is right here in Columbus, Ohio.

“This city is most notable for its affordability and access to job opportunities,” wrote Smart Asset in its most recent evaluation of the best cities for college grads. “Columbus’ cost of living is lower than the national average and is 12th-lowest overall in our study. Finding work in this city should be no trouble either.

It then goes on to say college grads in Columbus are in a good position to make new friends as 20 percent of the city’s population is between the ages of 20 and 29.

Smart Asset studied unemployment rates for new bachelor degree holders to measure job availability, median rent costs for affordability, and concentration of entertainment and dining establishments for the fun metric.

Our sister “C” city down south, Cincinnati, came in at #2 and Nashville and Pittsburgh followed up the #3 and #4 spots, respectively.
