Fairy Goodmothers making prom dress wishes come true for free
Fairy Godmothers don’t just exist in Disney movies.
Fairy Goodmothers (note that second “o”) is a nonprofit group granting high school girls’ prom dress wishes all over central Ohio.
According to a Visa study per WOSU, the average family spends close to $1,000 on their child’s prom night (yeah, we had to pick our jaw up off the floor, too).
But with over 250 volunteers working to repair old donated prom dresses, the Fairy Goodmothers are able to adorn 9,000 less fortunate teenaged girls in the gowns of their dreams for free.
WOSU reports the organization has provided prom dresses for 12,000 central Ohio girls since their founding in 2005.
Fairy Goodmother’s next pop-up will take place Saturday, April 7 from 9am- 5pm at Quantum Health. Free dresses, shoes, and jewelry will be available.
A valid school ID is required.
