New Albany attempting to swerve accidents with new roundabout

Roundabouts in Hilliard and Dublin didn’t immediately improve accident rates but will the case be different at one of New Albany’s intersections?

The intersection at state Route 605 and Walnut Street AKA New Albany-Condit Road has been the site of eight crashes since 2017.

New Albany city leaders think that by keeping traffic flowing, accidents will reduce.

All members of City Council except one approved a resolution to apply to the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission for 60 percent funding, reports This Week News.

Nn intersection-relocation and roundabout project could cost as much as $2.5 million.

New Albany would request 60 percent from MORPC with 40 percent being contributed locally from the city, Plain Township, and Franklin County.
