Franklin Park Conservatory’s new Pumpkin Nights will light up your fall

Regina Fox

Franklin Park Conservatory’s Harvest Blooms is bigger than ever, with more pumpkins, more fall displays, and even the introduction of an all-new after-dark experience: Pumpkin Nights!

Harvest Blooms, running September 21- October 27, delivers an spectacular autumn landscape of hundreds upon hundreds of pumpkins, heirloom gourds, colorful mums and autumn foliage cascading through the botanical gardens. This fall fantasy also includes an all new pumpkin playhouse, the return of the beloved pumpkin house, and a pumpkin display expansion into the Grand Mallway.

New this year, Pumpkin Nights are a chance to enjoy the Conservatory’s autumnal displays after dark. Hundreds of glowing pumpkins will illuminate the Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Children’s Garden while a rotating selection of live entertainment dazzles the crowds.

The live entertainment line-up includes pumpkin carving demonstrations by Rock on Ice every night, as well as special performances through the season including:

  • The Royal Jokers roaming juggling act on Friday, October 18
  • The Shazzbots on Saturday, October 19
  • The Cincinnati Circus Company’s high-flying aerial and fire shows on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26

An annual fan-favorite, The Glass Pumpkin Patch Sale on September 27- 29 is the chance to shop from hundreds of premium, collectable glass pumpkins that have been hand-crafted by local and nationally known gaffers. This experience also includes the chance to watch the mesmerizing glassblowing process at the Conservatory’s Hot Shop. Admission is not required to shop, but is required to explore the Conservatory and Harvest Blooms displays.

Other exhibitions on display during Harvest Blooms include Chihuly: Celebrating Nature presented by Nationwide and the Davis Foundation (ending March 29, 2020) and Bonsai (ending Nov. 10, 2019). For more details, please visit
