Columbus lands spot on New York Times “52 Places to Go in 2019”

Looking for somewhere exciting to go this year? Look no further because you’re living in one of New York Times “52 Places to Go in 2019.”

“With a revitalized riverfront and booming downtown, Columbus is already one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities,” wrote Daniel Sheffler of New York Times.

Columbus snagged the No. 47 spot on the countdown, right after Houston, but before Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Sheffler cited our self-driving shuttles and the newly-opened National Veterans Memorial and Museum as key attractions here in Columbus.

The Short North Arts District was called “ultracool,” Italian and German Villages were referred to as the places “where innovators and dreamers have opened destination shops like Stump Plants and Vernacular and bars like Cosecha,” and Service Bar, North Market, and Jeni’s each got their shoutouts, as well.

“Is this the American city of the future?” Sheffler asks his readers.

We say yes, yes it is.
