Mercato grocery delivery coming to the North Market
Since 1876, the North Market has been a destination that serves over one million guests each year and is consistently ranked as one of the top public markets in the country. They provide an authentic experience that highlights the diversity and vibrancy of our community by promoting and supporting local, independent businesses. Now they are taking that support to the next level with the timely launch of a grocery delivery service.
Mercato grocery delivery services will begin Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at their downtown location. Mercato is a third-party grocery delivery service specializing in independent grocers and public markets.
This permanent delivery solution follows the success the market had with their temporary bundle delivery program they offered at the beginning of the pandemic.
“This past Spring, the pandemic delivery bundles were hugely important for many of our merchants to stay afloat, and for guests stuck in quarantine to safely purchase groceries,” said North Market Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe.
“We knew we had to find a permanent delivery solution to help our community. Mercato has helped North Market navigate the tricky business of grocery delivery and we are thrilled to be working with them to fulfill your orders,” said Wolfe.
The North Market Mercato deliveries will launch with an initial list of participating merchants and additional merchants will be added on a continuing basis. Some of the merchants who will have items available for delivery starting next week include:

With this new endeavor at the downtown location and coming soon to the Bridge Park location, North Market stands today, stronger than ever, as a symbol of our community’s resilience, cultural diversity, and successful support of small local businesses.
The North Market Mercato Shop will be open to place orders every Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and orders will be delivered the next day (orders placed Friday will be delivered the following Tuesday). Ordering will launch Friday, October 30, and the first orders will be delivered Tuesday, November 3.
