BBQ Heaven: Ray Ray’s heads north

Ok, not that far north. Nocterra Brewing in Powell will be the newest site of one of the city’s finest BBQ joints.

Ray Ray’s fourth location will take its familiar food-truck form and ‘get-here-before-its-gone’ hours of Thursday to Sunday, 11:30am to 8pm. Non-taproom guests will have easy access to the food truck right through their gate in the beer garden.

“I feel I can open this new location in good faith during the pandemic because the demand is there. Folks really want to eat something that is professionally cooked during this time,” said Ray Ray’s owner James Anderson.

Known for authentic barbecue with meats smoked low and slow over hickory with their own rub and style – in standard Ray’s Ray’s fashion, there will be a custom barbecue sauce featuring Nocterra’s flagship beer, Beta Flash.

“The demand is far higher than the supply for prepared foods during the pandemic, so I feel Ray Ray’s will be well received in Powell. I’m thankful that we were able to resurrect one our original trucks to use in Powell.

Nocterra Brewing is located at 41 Depot St., Powell
