Return of the ‘Dube? New owner of beloved watering hole announces plans
The High Street restaurant/late night scene has felt the absence of The Blue Danube since the beloved neighborhood joint closed its doors in 2018. Now, it seems the ‘Dube is set to reopen under new ownership!
According to a report from the Dispatch, The University Impact District Review Board has given the ‘Dube’s new owner, Jay Harkrider, the green light to move forward with plans to reopen the landmark establishment. According to the report, he hopes to have doors open by fall of 2020.

Harkrider’s plans seem to honor the tradition of the space, while adding some modern updates—including replacing decaying wood paneling on the building’s facade with blue enamel porcelain tile.
Will we see you at the new and improved ‘Dube when it opens? First round is on us. Long live the ‘Dube!
