Columbus, you’re getting a new place to celebrate: New Italian Village event venue coming in 2021

Event venue operator BTTS Holdings plans to open Edison Italian Village in June at 777 N. 4th St.

John Brooks, managing partner with BTTS, said his business had been looking for opportunities to provide sophisticated event spaces in the city center and had been focusing on Italian Village for some time.

“This building, with its great architecture and a rich history, was perfect to bring our vision for an upscale, urban venue to life,” Brooks said.

The space, for events of all kinds such as weddings, corporate events, bridal and baby showers, and nonprofit galas, will be able to accommodate up to 200 guests, or 175 with a dance floor. The venue will feature an outdoor courtyard, a built-in bar, polished concrete floors, and historical arched windows.

While the pandemic has been a struggle for event venues and the wedding and event industry, Brooks said BTTS is confident about the upcoming COVID-19 vaccine and what it will mean for in-person events, as well as its safety protocols and technology upgrades. He said BTTS has focused on improving air quality at its event venues, including increasing fresh air intake, upgrading filters, and installing ionization to remove airborne pathogens.

And since many people have put their celebrations on hold this year, they’ll likely be looking for venues to hold their postponed events next year, Brooks said.

“We take a long-term view, and knew this is where we wanted to be long-term, inside the 270 loop, for our newest venue, the Edison,” he said.

BTTS also operates similar venues in Lewis Center, Hilliard, New Albany, and the Short North. For more information about the Edison, visit edison777.biz.
