After three years testing the business out in the heart of the city, Winans Chocolates + Coffees announced that it will be closing its downtown 216 S. High St. location on Aug. 7.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday morning, Winans stated that the “impacts of COVID-19 have made operations of this Winans location impractical.”

The foot traffic that the Winans downtown location banked on from people working downtown has drastically decreased since some large downtown employers moved to work from home setups at the onset of the pandemic.

Even though the news of Winans leaving Columbus proper is disappointing, rest assured that the Ohio-based brand is not leaving the central Ohio area. You can still visit locations in Dublin (52 S. High St.), Grandview Yard (1125 Yard St.), and German Village (897 S. 3rd St.).
