Cheers to beers! Craft beer festivals go virtual during the pandemic

As annual craft beer festivals around the country have seen sweeping cancellations due to COVID-19, many are turning to a virtual format.

One of those is the Cheers, Yinz! Fest, a four-hour event—kicking off Nov. 21 at 2:00 p.m.— featuring a full slate of 20 different speakers addressing a range of beer-centric topics, the ability to interact with up to 25 craft breweries in a virtual expo format, and even a live musical performance to wrap up the evening.

And we haven’t even told you the best part yet: 100% of the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the participating breweries in an attempt to offset financial losses from the pandemic.

“We wanted to create an event to bring the entire industry together for this cause. We believe there is strength in numbers and together we can support the industry when it needs us the most,” said Ryan Galiotto, founder of Fueled By Hops, an online craft beer community that’s organizing the event. “We’ve been absolutely floored by the response so far. This will certainly be a special event that no craft beer fan will want to miss.”

Some of the event’s speakers will cover topics ranging from diversity in the craft beer community, marketing and sales, beer and food pairing, hop farming, CBD in beer, and even a guide to presenting beer on social media.

And if that’s not enough, you’ll be able to interact with a host of breweries—some familiar and others likely new to you—including beermakers from Canada, New Hampshire, and Virginia. While the majority of participating breweries hail from Pennsylvania, there are a handful of Columbus-based names you’re likely familiar with, including Brewdog, Outerbelt, and Wolf’s Ridge.

All-access tickets for the event start at $10, and for $25, you will receive a ticket in addition to a commemorative Cheers, Yinz! Fest pint glass.
You can order tickets for the event here.
