Columbus Police said that on Wednesday, they arrested a murder suspect in a detached garage apartment owned by Ohio Rep. Kristin Boggs.

The man, 24-year-old Cameron Bowen from Westerville, is the boyfriend of Bogg’s nanny–police had been searching for him since the May 29 shooting that left 29-year-old Harry Williams dead.

“In the spring, our family along with so many others had to unexpectedly find childcare during the stay-at-home orders. We did our research and made a hire that came highly recommended,” Boggs said in a statement. “As part of her compensation, we provided her with an apartment above our detached garage with its own address and separate entrance. The person she was seeing never spent any time around us or our children.”

The legislator went on to express gratitude for how police handled the situation, and to assure the public that her family would continue to fully cooperate with their investigation.

Bowen was arraigned Thursday morning. His girlfriend, 21-year-old Iris Green, has also been arrested and charged with obstructing official business.
