CCAD’s annual fashion show is back

While last year’s fashion show was canceled, the Columbus College of Art & Design is bringing back its show May 14 in a revamped, COVID-safe way.

The May 14 event will feature a pre-recorded runway show that people can watch either at home or at Easton Community Drive-In.

“We knew going in we wanted to make sure we were doing something that would be doable,” said Suzanne Cotton, chair of CCAD’s Fashion Design program.

The in-person event at the Drive-In will be led by Amber Knicole, the lead singer of neo funk group Mojo Flo. The show will feature work from 18 CCAD students.

Cotton said current events very much impacted how the designers went about their work. Some collections are moody, deep, and reflective, while others have more of an escapist vibe.

“They’ve really risen to the challenge, and I’m really proud of what they’ve done,” she said.
