Grab that paintbrush, Columbus.

This Saturday kicks off the first of two plein air painting how-tos at the Columbus Museum of Art. En plein air, also known as plein air painting, just means painting outside.

Bizarre Landscapes will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 5, and again from 6-8 p.m. June 17. Tickets are $65 per person and include watercolor supplies and “painting fuel” (wine and snacks). We like the way you think, CMA.

The events will be led by Ohio Plein Air Society members, who will instruct participants on this particular type of artistry. There’s also supposed to be a special guest in the museum gardens.
