Columbus natives make history as first musicians to land sync deal with ‘HBO’ & ‘DC Comics’
Taylor Nixon and London Elixir grew up just down the street from each other here in Columbus, attending the same high school, Columbus Africentric Early College.
Like most high school friendships, they inevitably went in different directions. But fate had it that their paths would cross again in Atlanta, where they moved to pursue their dreams in the music industry.

They started collaborating together in an Atlanta studio. Little did they know, they’d be creating a song that would be featured in the hit HBO Max x DC Comics show, The Penguin. The song, “Bye,” was the result of both Taylor and London supporting their mothers during difficult times. “Creating this song together during such a difficult time for both of our families was therapeutic,” said Taylor. “To see it now being featured in a major show like The Penguin is beyond anything we could have imagined.”
While there’s a plethora of talent here, Taylor Nixon and London Elixir are the first to land a sync deal with DC Comics and HBO.
“Our roots are in Columbus, and we’re proud to represent our city,” said London Elixir. “We hope this inspires other artists from our hometown to keep pushing, no matter where they are. Columbus has so much talent, and we want to be proof that with perseverance and hard work, anything is possible.”
