Book this new Hocking Hills cabin before it’s too late

Planning a getaway to Hocking Hills? There’s a new cabin on the block.

Dunlap Hollow Cabins’ latest offering is the A-Frame, a 1,500 square-foot, three-level space at 24063 Dunlap Rd. in Rockbridge. It features a steel frame to elevate it above the ground, and it’s built into a steep hillside surrounded by caves, seasonal waterfalls, cliffs, and trees, said Amy Gingerich with Dunlap Hollow Cabins.

“We wanted this space to be filled with unique views of the forest in every direction, and so we incorporated an abundance of windows and skylights,” she said.

The bottom level features a master bedroom and bath, along with a dining room, living room, and kitchen. The middle level has a full bath, private balcony, and two bedrooms. On the top level, guests will find a scenic loft, with panoramic views of the forest. The space has a sunken king-sized bed and two pull-down single beds.

The cabin also includes a hot tub and patio with lounge chairs and a fireplace. Visitors can enjoy a campfire area and private hiking trails.

“The forest scenery around the A-Frame is part of what makes this space so special. It [sits] on 30+ acres of private land that provides some of the best adventure that Hocking Hills has to offer,” Gingerich said.

Since booking has been offered, the cabin has enjoyed quite a bit of popularity. Gingerich said only a few weekends are left in 2021.

Another rental, the Cottage, also sits on their private land, Dunlap Hollow.
