Beat the heat with this new popsicle bar

Beat the heat with this new popsicle bar

Sure, you’ve had popsicles before, just never any like these.

Too Good Eats, a Columbus company selling craft popsicles in nearly 20 flavors—and a new line of artisan drinks—is set to open a new popsicle bar and cafe within The Hills Market next week, making them one of our must-try summer brands for foodies.

“We’re so ready to test this concept here,” said Anique Russel, who owns and operates the To Good Eats with her husband Ali. “We’ve been passionate about the concept for a long time, but we really want to see how it resonates with Columbus.”

Their new spot in The Hills Market (located in a designated vendor stall), will be open from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning June 1.

“We’re excited about coming downtown,” Russel said. “The Hills provides an area where small businesses can pop up and own the space, and that’s what we plan to do.”

Their pops and drinks are all crafted with seasonal and local ingredients, plus they’re 100% vegan and don’t add any additional sugar. This effort to maintain quality ingredients is a regular reminder for Anique Russel of her own dedication to living better.

“My senior year of college we had our son,” she said, “There were a lot of health issues in my family, and I wanted to change the health legacy of my family.”

But don’t confuse healthy and source-conscious treats with bland, tasteless ones. These pops are bursting at the seams with flavor.

And with 18 different artisan varieties to choose from, you’re not lacking options either.

One of their most popular is Too Good Green, which features kale, mango, banana, apple, and lemon. Another top pick is the sorbet-esque Lemonberry Lacenser, that combines sweet and tangy fruits with a hint of lavender and cashew milk for a culinary, aromatic finish.

With summer on the horizon, keep your eyes out for the seasonal Watermelon Rhubarb Mint, a perfect antidote for those muggy Midwest afternoons.

We can’t forget the drinks either.

New to Too Good Eats is a line of craft juices that maintains the same ingredient integrity and delicious flavors as their pops, with options like Pineapple Hibiscus, Apple Spice Chai Tea, and many more.

According to Russel, you’ll probably want to get one of each, because dipping your popsicle in a cold, artisan juice takes your snacking experience to a different level.
