Chef’s tasting dinner at The Keep to feature whiskey pairings

Heads up, whiskey fans.

The Keep Kitchen & Bar at LeVeque Tower is planning a chef’s tasting dinner complimented by North American Whiskey cocktails and pairings, according to a recent release.

The dinner, designed by The Keep Executive Chef Courtney Nielson, is slated for 7 p.m. March 25. To comply with COVID-19 restrictions and recommendations, a very limited number of seats are available. Additional spots are available for virtual guests, who can participate with a link to the live-streamed event and receive the dinner and cocktail pairing via carryout.

Among the pairings featured are:

  • A shrimp cocktail with peppered gazpacho and charred lemon and George Dickel 12
  • A smoked pork belly tamale with tomatillo salsa, paired with The American Frontier, which features Bulleit Rye, Dolin Blanc, grilled pineapple syrup, lemon, and a Tajin rim
  • A flaming ribeye with smoked cheese grits and green onion butter and Bulleit Barrel Strength
  • House-made Crown Royal Ice Cream topped with spiced nuts, milk chocolate anglaise, and a cherry on top, paired with Fit For a Queen, made with Crown Royal infused with walnut oil, Noilly Pratt Sweet Vermouth, and Angostura Cocoa Bitters.

During the dinner, Nielsen and celebrity bartender and cocktail educator Cris Dehlavi will talk to guests about the recipes and discuss tips for selecting whiskey pairings.

The event is $100 per guest, and more information can be found at thekeepcolumbus.com
