New concept from Harvest Pizzeria owners is now open in the Brewery District

There’s no such thing as too much good pizza.

Lucky for us, Columbus is welcoming another spot to its already impressive slate of za-makers. And this one has a few familiar faces behind it.

The Silo, a new restaurant and bar concept from Grow Restaurants, the owners of Harvest Pizzeria, is now open, with a grand opening event scheduled for this week.

Located at 940 S. Front St.,The Silo shares a building with the Brewery District Harvest Bar + Kitchen location. The new spot will focus on small plates in addition to an impressive list of cocktails and draft beer.

“This honestly started about three years ago, since the space had a pizza oven and a full kitchen in there,” said Matt Torchia, COO of Grow Restaurants, noting that it was also naturally set up to support two different concepts. “There’s a long hallway with a natural divider separating the both spaces.”

While both restaurants serve pizza, The Silo is offering a much different take than the thin, wood-fired style Harvest is known for. The Silo will be serving up “pizzettas”, their term for personal pan pizzas. Served on sourdough focaccia, diners can grab one with cheese, pepperoni, or spicy pesto.

The rest of the menu at the new Brewery District spot is concise, with only seven additional offerings, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t also eclectic. It features items like their pretzel with IPA cheese sauce and bourbon honey mustard, beef cheek poutine, lobster rolls, and Korean steam buns, all for a reasonable price.

The Silo also lets its libations shine. An impressive cocktail list combines with a beer menu featuring great domestic craft brews in addition to imports like Saison DuPont and Gulden Draak, which are generally more difficult to source.

The new bar and eatery is open Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. until midnight, in addition to Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until to midnight.
