New pizza concept from owner of Community Grounds now open in Hilliard

Hilliard has a new pizza option.

That’s because Off Center: Patio & Pub, a brand-new pizza concept located at 5286 Center St., opened last month.

Billed as a combination between New York and Neapolitan-style pizza, Off Center’s pies are a far cry from the square slices often found in Columbus. “Our dough, made in house, is a New York Style fermented dough, rolled Neapolitan style. It is both crispy and airy,” the eatery said in a Facebook post.

The concept, which was launched by Community Grounds co-owner Joel Cosme and Tara Mullins-Cosme, is vegan and vegetarian friendly. While whole-milk mozzarella is offered, the eatery also sells pies with Okalona’s cashew cheese as well. Meatless pepperoni from The Very Good Butcher is also highlighted in several pizzas, and a number of vegetarian and plant-based sides and desserts are also for sale.

Currently, Off Center only sells pizza for delivery (via GrubHub and DoorDash, although they plan to introduce their own delivery service next year) and carryout. The Hilliard Pizzeria will likely have some form of on-site dining open by early 2022.
