Taft’s to reopen Columbus location

After shuttering in December, Taft’s Brewpourium will reopen April 28.

Taft’s Brewing Co. Managing Partner Dave Kassling said the brewpub at 440 W. Broad St. closed due to the pandemic while the Cincinnati locations, with more established guest bases, were able to stay open.

“We continued to operate as long as we possibly could, but unfortunately there was not enough demand to remain open in the COVID environment at that time,” Kassling said.

Now though, Taft’s believes that demand will increase with the ongoing decrease in COVID cases and increase in immunizations, he said.

“We are confident that we will be in a much better place to reopen our doors,” he said. “Also as the weather warms, our guests can enjoy our huge outdoor patio in a safe way. Safety for our Taft’s team and guests will remain the number one priority, as it has always been.”

Patrons who come out for the reopening will be able to enjoy a bunch of new house-brewed beers, as well as the return of Taft’s New Haven-style pizza.

“We plan on holding in-house events, and there will be lots of surprises to come as we enter the summer season,” Kessler said.
