Travel to Italy with this Dublin wine house

For a getaway this Memorial Day weekend, you don’t have to travel far.

Coast Wine House, 75 S. High St. in Dublin, is launching a pop-up concept called “Osteria” that’s inspired by a summer-time Italian holiday.

“For the next few months our bar menu will exclusively feature Italian wines, classic and modern Italian-style cocktails, and regional Italian-inspired cuisine,” said owner Dustin Snow.

The bottle shop will feature patio-pounder whites and rosés, classics like Chianti and Barolo, and unique finds like Franciacorta, Amarone, and Schiava, Snow said. The menu will be updated to feature new food and beverage offerings throughout the summer.

Snow said he wants to explore different regional cuisines, like calamari, meatballs, and prosciutto and melon.

“Our patio doesn’t exactly overlook the Med, and it’s not the Euro-trip that you’ve had to postpone two times, but if you just squint as you’re gazing into that tangerine Aperol Spritz you might see the Sicilian sun,” he said.

Travel-inspired menus are a tradition of sorts for Coast Wine House. Snow said his menus are often inspired by different destinations.

“Since we’ve launched, we’ve gone on a Mediterranean cruise, wintered in the Alps, and spent a southern-hemisphere-summer in Oceania,” he said.
