Five late-summer festivals to visit this weekend

Sarah Sole

It’s getting to be that time of year when it feels like we need to make every second of summer count before it’s gone for good. That’s why we hand-picked five different events that are coming up the weekend of Aug. 12 and 13. If you’re feeling indecisive, we suggest hitting up all of them!

Moonlight Market at Pearl

This monthly outdoor street festival at Pearl and Gay streets is slated for Aug. 13. It’s an excuse to head downtown and visit area businesses that feature extended hours and promotions in honor of the festivities. You can also browse a wide variety of sidewalk vendors featuring artisan products.

St. Mary German Village Homecoming Festival

Taking place from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 13, the St. Mary festival features games for the kids, and a variety of beer and wine for the adults. Even better? Admission is free.
